Many of our Frontier connections (Tigard, Beaverton, Aloha, Gresham, Hillsboro, Newberg, and other areas) are experiencing slowness due to heavy packet loss. This is affecting both DSL Only and Frontier ISP customers. Frontier is currently aware of the issue and working to resolve the problem. No estimated time when this will be resolved. |
| 02/10/2011 - 02/10/2011 | Undeliverable Email Messages |
One of our customer's email account was compromised and a spammer was using our mail server to send out Spam. The issue has been resolved but some customers will receive undeliverable messages sent to their account because the Spammer used legitimate email addresses as the Reply To address. |
| 12/12/2011 - 12/19/2011 | Mail Server Blacklist |
UPDATE: Microsoft is now accepting email messages again from our server to the hotmail.com, live.com and msn.com domains.
Customers may not be able to send email to certain mail servers that are blocking our mail server due to black listing. One of our customer's accounts was compromised over the weekend, allowing a Spammer to login and send messages through our mail server. This caused our mail server to appear on several blacklists. The compromised account was disabled this morning and the Spammer no longer has access to the account. We have submitted requests to be removed from several blacklists and are waiting to be removed from the blacklists. |

Frontier has identified a problem with their switch and are currently working to resolve the issue. There is no current estimated time of service restoration. UPDATE: Service has been restored. |

| 03/21/11 9:30a - 12:45p | Frontier | Frontier customers in the SW Portland Metro Area are unable to connect to the Internet. This outage is affecting all ISPs with customers using Frontier as their DSL circuit provider. Frontier is currently aware of the issue but cannot provide an ETA of when the problem will be resolved. |
| 03/14/11 - 03/15/11 12:20p | News Server | UPDATE: The news service connection has been restored. Some customers are unable to connect to the news server news.dsl-only.net. We have a trouble ticket open with our news content provider to resolve this issue as soon as possible. |
| 01/21/11 12:00am - 3:00am | Maintenance Window | DSL Northwest will be upgrading hardware on its core network infrastructure. This will be a service affecting maintenance that could last up to 30 minutes during the window. |
| 1/4/2011 1:30am - 9:30am | Domain Name Resolution | An update to the DNS servers resulted in an unexpected configuration change. The symptoms resembled a loss of connection to the Internet as some domain names were unable to resolve. Authoritative DNS lookups were not affected. |
| 11/11/2010 11:00pm - 11:20pm | Internet Connection | Our core router experienced a distributed denial service attack through on of our Internet portals. Customers experienced the inability to connect to the Internet during this period. |
| 09/23/2010 11:00pm - 09/24/2010 1:00am | Internet Connection | One of our upstream providers will be performing router upgrades on Sept. 23, 11:00pm - Sept 24, 1:00am. Our network will fail over automatically to our other upstream providers but we expect brief interruptions while our routers reestablish routes. |

| 1/07/2010 5:20am - 1:50pm | Qwest Communications | Downtown Portland is experiencing a power outage due to a substation fire this morning. Earlier this morning the alternate outgoing mail server lost power and was moved to a circuit on the backup generator at 8:20am. As of 11:45am, Qwest customers in the state of Washington have no connectivity. The Qwest equipment that hands-off traffic to our network is without power. We have opened trouble ticket with Qwest regarding the issue. Update: Qwest issue was resolved at 11:45am |
| 9/15/2009 11:00am - 3:00pm | Qwest | Qwest is currently experiencing an outage in the Silvan Hills area. Technicians are currently working to restore service as soon as possible. UPDATE: Service restored. |
| 5/21/2009 11:00pm | Emergency Maintenance Window | One of our upstream providers will be performing emergency maintenance. Our network will automatically compensate for the disruption and route traffic to our other upstream providers. However, some delay and congestion may occur. |
| 4/16/2009 12:00am | Emergency Maintenance Window | We will be performing emergency system maintenance that will result in some E-mail and Web Hosting being temporarily off-line. Internet connectivity will not be affected. Service downtime is not expected to last over 1 hour during this window. |

| 12/13/06 | News Server | As of 12/13/06, our upstream provider for binary news streams began filtering image content from news posts. Posts later than 12/13/06 will show text in binary messages but the images have been removed. We are exploring the possibility of new upstream providers. |
| 12/22/06 12:00am - 4:00am | Network Repairs | Final repairs will be done to the fiber optic lines that were damaged in the wind storm on 12/15/05. The repairs being performed may result in a brief network outage for Qwest DSL subscribers. Down time is not expected to last more than 5 minutes. |
| 12/15/06 | Network Problems | Currently we are experiencing some network problems that are the result of storm related damage to the fiber optic lines that connect Seattle to Portland. If you are a Seattle Qwest DSL subscriber all network access is affected. All other areas are expect to see some slow or unreachable websites or network destinations. This is due to the routing that is in place to compensate for the fiber optic damage. |

| 05/06/06 9:00am | Qwest ADSL outage. | Electric Lightwave, working with Bonneville Power Company, is replacing damaged fiber cable between the Tacoma, WA Regen site and the Covington, WA regen site. This will result in loss of service for all Qwest DSL subscribers in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Service is expected to be restored by 12:30pm |
| 01/29/06 - 01/30/06 | Network instability | On Sunday and early Monday morning some Portland and Seattle Qwest DSL subscribers my have experience network instability. We are currently working to identify the causing factor for this issue. |
| 01/26/06 1:00am - 3:00am | Network Maintenance Window | We will be performing maintenance on the network that may result in loss of network connectivity for brief period of time. Possible down time is expected to last less than 60 minutes. |
