Outlook 2010

If you are adding an account, choose the File>Info>Add Account

Start here when launching Outlook 2010 for the first time

Select "Manually configure server settings or additional server types".

Select "Internet E-mail".

Click "Next".

Start here when adding a new account (see how to get here at the bottom of this page)

Fill out the information as shown. Replace "username@dsl-only.net" with your email address

Click on "More Settings" button

Select the "Outgoing Server" tab an check the box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

Click on "OK" and then click on "Finish"
