DSL Troubleshooting

Here is some basic Troubleshooting steps you can do if your DSL line is down and you have
no network connectivity.

- Power cycle your DSL modem and all network devices.
- Power cycle your computer.
- Confirm power to computer and all network devices.
- Confirm IP address information in your computer or router.
- Double check all cables connected to the DSL modem and/or your computer.
- Confirm dial-tone on the DSL phone line.

Line speed testing
To test your DSL line speed click on the link below to download a 10 Meg file. Look at
the transfer rate and then multiply that by 8 to get your line speed in kbits. By default
most browsers show transfer rates in Bytes while DSL line speed is referenced in bits.

- 8 Bits = 1 Byte
- kb = kilobits
- kB = Kilobytes
